The Family at War Lest We Forget
Welcome to the Skeletons Closet
Our bit of the Hawkes family in Northamptonshire starts at Little Addington, where our oldest known ancestor Timothy Hawkes was married Sept 7th 1628 to Anne Oliver. Neither were natives to Little Addington. Despite much searching of most of the parish registers for Northamptonshire and it's surrounding counties, we have been unable to find out where Timothy and Anne originated from. But recent finds in the Parish Registers for Swalcliffe in Oxfordshire list the birth of Timothy Haukes the son of Edmund Haukes Bapt April 14 th 1588. And a recent find at Bugbrooke suggests that this is where Timothy might have met Anne Oliver. Whilst visiting Timothy’s sister Emmett Haukes who was a maid in the parish maybe while attending Emmett ‘s burial which took place on Oct 23 1617 When Anne would have been 12 years old having been born in 1605.
